TONE DOWN THE RHETORIC ON IMMIGRATION (unless you are against it)

I think we can all agree that the rhetoric surrounding the immigration debate in this country has, on occassion, gone VERY over the top. In fact the blogosphere here in Arizona has seen many racist and offensive comments about the immigration marches and potential policy reforms.

Luckily, in a letter before the President meets with the leaders or Mexico and Canada- one brave congressman finally told Bush how he felt.

... their clumsy, over-the-top rhetoric about internal U.S. political matters pertaining to our border security is unwarranted and unacceptable.”

Of course, umm—WOAH wait. That quote is from our very own J.D. “Whatever it Takes” Hayworth … Mr. over the top rhetoric himself! What gives?

Well, as you probably have guessed JD is saying these mean things about our allies to the South – MEXICO and their elected officials.

It turns out that J.D. is tired of being called a bigot by Latin American leaders for his … what he must think is NOT over the top rhetoric on immigration. To give the guy the benefit of the doubt, I have gotten my hands on a copy of his book to show you all some of the “constructive” things that he says which are very “down to earth”. Read and learn folks:

* “How different are these radicals Islamists from the Mexican politicians who push for a Mexico without borders and undermine our efforts at assimilation? From the multiculti elites who oppose english language education?” (p 58)
Yup, just like Osama.

* “Guest Worker=Amnest=Surrender” (Title of Chapter 9)
Yikes!

* They [The Left] oppose English as the official language because … well, because they really don’t like America very much and equate Americanization with cultural oppression … they want immigrants to change America—and not for the better.
Yeah, for example as a member of the Left I want to destroy America by any means necessary.

* “It turns out that the Minutemen were less armed than most other Arizonans. Surveys show that a third of Arizonans own guns, although polling I’ve done in my district puts it closer to a half.”
I just added this because I think it is fun.

JD also has no problem criticizing everyone he can in his book. Both directly and indirectly Mr. Hayworth is critical of:

* All Democrats EVER

* President Reagan (amnesty in the 80s lead to almost all crime we have today)

* President Bush (vague and indecisive)

* John McCain (absurd immigration bill and is a flip-flopper on employer sanctions)

* The Arizona Republic (don’t think the police should enforce the law)

* The US Senate (doesn’t care about immigration issues and therefore America).

... and much much more!

Good ol JD, what a mess.
