Senator Ableser
Democratic candidate named as senator PHOENIX The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors today filled a state Senate vacancy created by Harry Mitchell’s resignation to run for Congress.
The supervisors unanimously selected Edward Ableser as the senator for a district that centers on Tempe.
Abelser was one of three Democrats nominated by party precinct committee members. The other two nominees included one of the district’s two sitting state representatives, Democrat Meg Burton Cahill.
She’s running for the Senate seat and Ableser is running for a House seat.
I think this makes Ed the youngest member of the legislature … but I’m not 100% sure of that.
Please note for all you gossip hounds out there – Ableser is NOT going to run for the Senate seat he is keeping warm for Meg Burton-Cahill. He absolutely is running for the House again.
