Sen. Ron Gould Questions CITIZENSHIP of San Luis Mayor
I just saw Senator Ron “Confederate Flag” Gould outside the State Legislature prove once again that he is the most biggoted elected official in the State of Arizona.
The same man who happily flies a Confederate Flag over his home as an “historic tribute”, demanded Governor Napolitano put the National Guard on the ground the day of the immigration march for all the inevitable violence those people would bring, and calls anyone who criticizes him a baby killer – has again gone out of his way to show that his hardline stance on immigration IS NOT ABOUT RACE.
Of course, he did so in kind of a funny way today. Senator Gould crashed a press conference that elected officials and law enforcement from border communities hosted today at the legislature with an …. odd question.
After the mayor of San Luis, Nieves Riedel, talked at the podium Senator Ron Gould asked her if she was an American or a Mexican citizen.
Not sure if it was the accent, her town’s proximity to Mexico, her reference to her cultural heritage, or the fact that her name wasn’t “Johnson” but the Senator continued to press even after Riedel responded with “I’m a PROUD Mexican-American” and proclaimed her love for this country.
Gould got so aggressive that an angry Riedel answered by saying, “Yes, I’m an American Citizen … do you want me to show you my papers?!”.
OHHHHHH that ZANY legislature! What will they do next!
